MARCH 2011

Date: 3/30/2011

Hi All,
The 2010 year was a very busy year, but as I look back…I really enjoyed all the great memories. After our successful King Charley show in June, I was able to complete one of my goals, “ the planned retirement from Boeing Co. in July“. Yeah!!…and after that I was able to enjoy the summer months with more family time and add a few more Car shows, and a couple vacations to Southern Calif. and Arizona.

Talking about looking back…At the December and January Club meetings we recapped the 2010 year…with very positive feedback, and with the help of our active members, we had a chance to share some great memories together of a fun and active year. The input was very constructive, with regards to the direction the Club is moving. With some suggestion’s, focusing on more socializing as a club with better communication, and suggestions about the planned cruises and more club activities together. The consensuses was, as a Club we would attend and support our Sister Club’s Shows this summer. Check the calendar of events section for dates and locations.

At the February Club meeting, members voted to processed with the purchase of a LeMay brick pavers with the Club’s inscription…EL CAMINO CLASSICS CAR CLUB Enthusiasts 1959-1987 EVERETT WA Est. 1992. Pavers would be permanently installed in the Grand Plaza leading to the Museum’s Collector Car Center.

December is always a busy month for all of us, but… Matt Forsythe’s 1969 EL Camino found time to become a Club Celebrity…his story to follow in the March Newsletter. In the My Ride section. Matt’s EL Camino will be our Club’s featured
El Camino. Thanks again to Matt.

Well now it’s time to look forward, to all the long distance Members and Sister Clubs, please keep us informed as to what’s happening in your part of the country, we can also add your events (cruises, BB-Q, etc)…. to our newsletters. And please keep sending your monthly newsletters, our Club really enjoys hearing from you.

In May the Club would like to put together a El Camino Tailgate gathering, For a fun lunch event and also for the Club’s photo shoot…of our Members and their El Caminos. This activity will help with updating the web site Member Section and the Club’s new directory… More to come about this activity.

The El Camino Classics.com web site has evolved to be one of our best way’s to communicate the club goals…visit often for Club’s news, updates and activities.

I truly believe our Club’s mission statement is our strongest asset that defines our Club. A vibrant and successful club will come from our member's interests, and their commitment to having open communications and to share their views and talents with other members. Please share this with El Camino owner’s in your area.

Hey, members your suggestions and input about these subjects...are important as always. Feel free to contact any of our officers with your thoughts.
