I've been looking for a car for over a year when I was looking in Craigslist one afternoon and saw it! A 1970 El Camino, one owner, numbers matching for sale for $5,500.00. I sent an email to the owner and later on that night he sent me back his phone number. I went out to see the car the next day and after a short drive and listening to those 2 1/2" stainless exhaust belt out that sound I knew I had to buy it!

I found out from the owner that the car was originally from California and was one of only 47,809 made that year at the plant in Van Nuys.

It was number 1407 of 47809 to come off the assembly line. I offered $5,000.00 and he said just because he wanted it to go to someone who would appreciate it and restore it to it's glory he saw how enthused I was and excepted my offer. Shortly after bringing it home I started looking on the internet for a car club that specializes in El Caminos & Chevelles. Was I lucky to find "The El Camino Classics of Everett". I joined them in the spring of 2009 and have been an active member ever since.

I've been to 2 car shows, our El Camino Classics back in June of 2009 where I won best unfinished and the Snohomish Classic Car Show in September of 2009.

I've had it to two other cruise in's so far this year and have had modest success with plenty of great compliments!

I plan to attend many more car shows and cruises next year for sure!!
